We visited Stone Mountain State Park this weekend as part of the North Carolina State Park Passport program. When we arrived Sunday morning we were met by a park ranger who told me that the visitor center was closed that day but she would be happy to answer any questions that we had before we headed out hiking for the day.
I let her know that we had hiked at Hanging Rock State Park the day before and the kids were not up to doing a huge hike. She recommended that we start with Widow’s Creek Falls as it was only a few minutes walk from the parking lot.
The falls are beautiful (and icy) and the kids kept saying that they wished it were summer so they could swim.
We were the only ones there so early in the morning except for whomever left these tracks before we arrived 🙂
Until the next adventure………………..
